Key Responsibilities:

  • Create purchase orders and obtain approval in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure stock requested from branches is loaded accurately and dispatched on time.
  • Communicate any stock variances to the relevant parties before dispatch.
  • Ensure all stock adjustments are approved by the Branch Manager.
  • Maintain the physical security of the warehouse and stock by ensuring access is controlled at all times.
  • Schedule and conduct monthly stock counts.
  • Ensure the warehouse opens promptly and is operational each day.
  • Perform functional duties as required by the Branch Manager.
  • Promote the company image by maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Develop product knowledge and understanding of services offered to customers and branches.
  • Contribute to improving warehouse efficiency and operational processes.
  • Receive, safeguard, and control stock. Manage stock issues and inter-branch transfers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) stock management practices.
  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies, losses, and variances.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy is a critical requirement.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and warehouse processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric/NSSC) with a minimum of 23 points.
  • Diploma or Certificate in: Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in warehousing, inventory control, logistics, or stock management.
  • 1-3 years’ supervisory experience managing warehouse staff and daily operations.
  • Experience in: Receiving and dispatching stock, Inventory control and stock counts, FIFO stock management, Warehouse management systems.
  • Experience in the tyre, automotive parts, or retail distribution industry will be an advantage.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence, Code B.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures.
